Forgotten Realms: Cauldron
21st of Kythorn (evening):
Since we had a little down time, at least till the morning, and we had a nice little waterfall here I figured a shower would be a nice respite. I needed to wash off all the blood and sweat of the last few days. Since little ol’ Alistair screwed up his chance with Leera figured I would try my luck. I talked with Sigur and he pointed out the best spot and after talking with Leera, using the ol’ Vashan charm that comes naturally to one as smooth as I, she and I got naked and scrubbed each other down. I got her up against the back wall and with the cold water and her warm welcoming body up against mine things rose to the occasion. Everything else fell to the background and the only thing in my focus was the sensations of our bodies combining as one. After wards she got with Sigur and next thing I knew she was teleporting away with Sigur and Teral’s body. Women can’t live with ‘em so pass the beer nuts! When I get back to Cauldron I will have to look her up and see if we can continue our fling, it would be worthwhile to have a competent bard around and if she is a little smitten with yours truly then all the better. Might have to actually make date plans and spend a little gold to keep her happy but you always pay for it one way or another. With the loot I have picked up on the sly with this group I think I can afford it. Anyway, we decided to stay here for the night and continue on in the morning after Alistair and Merlo memorized their spells for the upcoming battles.
22nd of Kythorn:
Well the morning arrived without incident and we headed out. After going back through the room with the Tomb Spider the next three rooms all had illusions in them as soon as someone stepped into them. They all featured the king, a lady whom I believed to be his woman, and the guy known now as the betrayer. The illusions progressed from them being together, then to them in battle, and finally to the king being killed by the betrayer. Personally I could care less, but aesthetically speaking, quite captivating. In the second room there were a couple doors that had skulls on them. Merlo recognized them as the markings of Myrkul, a god that was destroyed during the Time of Troubles. What that meant to me was no deity to piss off if I loot the tombs. Randal was probably thinking the same thing cuz when I went to one door he went to the other. The door I opened had four standing sarcophagus and a huge floor to ceiling mirror. The other one had four sarcophagi also but two of them had been busted open and there was a Plague Walker and a Hecuva inside waiting for us. Randal stood there arguing with himself for a second and then charged down the ramp. That guy is getting weirder and weirder as the adventure continues. Maybe he just needs a break or maybe he needs to get laid. I know that would help me out a lot, the getting laid part. Well that’s neither here nor there. As soon as Tharag got a whiff of undead he was on it like white on rice. Alistair moved over so he could send in artillery and Merlo headed over to where I was. When Merlo stepped into the room he looked at the mirror and shook his head then threw his axe at it. The mirror exploded into a million pieces; guess he didn’t like what he saw. Maybe I should have asked around if others wanted a shower after I was done last night. He stepped out and closed the door saying that I shouldn’t go it there. Yea right, like that is going to happen. Broken mirror or not I will not be denied those rubies that I saw on those coffins. I told Merlo to go ahead and I would support the fight from the rear. What an idiot, he bought it hook line and sinker, sometimes being a little evil has its privileges. He headed for the fray and I slipped into the room. As soon as I got all the rubies pried out I hurriedly made my exit. They were just stepping out of the other room, and I know I looked guilty but I played it off and they all bought it except maybe Randal. He had a knowing gleam in in his eye. No biggie I don’t mind splitting my loot two ways and I hope it will work the other way if I ever catch him with his hand in the cookie jar.
We moved on and went down a small set of stairs and came to an intersection with tapestries hanging over the openings. I searched the wall ahead and felt a slight throbbing (?) I guess would be the best way to describe it. The group decided to go right and I slipped around the left side I made my way to the corner and watched the group interact with whom I think was the Betrayer. It didn’t take them long to piss him off and the battle ensued. Hiding over out of his line of sight I figured would be the safest spot and I could work my way over and get him from behind. Then I realized he was undead and that shot that plan out of the air. Luckily I was going over all this in my head from my hiding spot cuz next thing I know this statue of a horse and rider came to life and charged down the corridor. I was just getting ready to join the fray when out of nowhere this blue bolt of lightning came out of the sky and BAM! right into my backside! What in the abyss was that? Musta pissed somebody off got to remember to not do that again. Well with my hair still on end from the lightning I made my way up to the horse and rider drawing out my mace. Tharag was up there going toe to toe with the Betrayer. Merlo and Randal where taking on another skeletal knight. Alistair was lobbing spells on all of them in turn, so I just started bashing away on the skeletal knight in front of me. Tharag was getting as good as he gave and soon had to retreat. That left only yours truly fighting the skeletal knight he soon had me retreating as well and next thing I knew the stone floor was rushing up to meet me.
