Session 11

17th of Flamerule (mid-day):
With the battle over, Alistair, Wolftracker, and I headed through the entry that the fish bastards had come from. They had a little barracks set up with their little sleeping holes and a huge pile of shit in the center of the room. All in all not a lot of stuff of value. Alistair keep claiming that he had killed a whole bunch of guys up in one of the eyes and still felt the need to prove it so we continued on up some stairs and there they were. Course just cuz they were scorched beyond recognition did make him the one responsible for their deaths, or so Wolftracker said. Didn’t make any difference to me, I know the usefulness of Alistair but he still feels the need to keep proving himself, must be the short man complex he has. We also found another room that served as their armory with a bunch of spears and shit, nothing worth a whole lot and definitely nothing better than what we already had, so we shut the door and headed back down to the rest of the group.
We moved over to the other portal and there was a lever that sent the bars creaking into the ceiling. The other side held a jail with four cells or so two of which were occupied, one by a Halfling, and another by a human. While we were talking with them Franklin did a detect evil and started reading their thoughts. He said each one had a faint aura of evil and they both hated each other. The human admitted he was here to steal things and Franklin all but pronounced judgment on him then and there. Sometimes I think he is confused about which god he serves. Helm is a protector of the weak while Tyr is the one who is the judging one. Well either way killing a fellow rogue just wasn’t going to happen on my watch not if I could help it. Of course I also didn’t want him at my back, plus I didn’t need any competition. The Halfling said he was a sorcerer or mage of some sort. Must be a calling for short people, what they lack in height they feel they have to make up in other ways. Well another spell chucker could always be handy and since the fish fuckers had eaten his pet owl in front of him no less, it would stand to reason that he would want some pay back. So I proposed a simple solution, first we would let the human go, his punishment would be that any gear he previously had was forfeit for his “crimes” but he was free to leave. The Halfling for his own protection would be required to stay with us. After all, the two had a budding hatred between the two of them that was beyond comprehension, plus the fact that when we released the human he changed into a rat and scurried away, fucking were-creatures. I had no doubt that if the Halfling no matter how much he boasted would get his ass handed to him if he tried to fuck with the rogue. He also mentioned a very interesting fact that he was here searching for the same Gods be damned Dwarf that we were searching for. He said he was hired by some hot ass female that I have no doubt was our whip wielding friend Jil. Apparently this dwarf had some birth mark that dealt with one of the outer planes or some such bullshit. It got me to thinking if there are other factions trying to find this Dwarf how are we to believe the bullshit story of some old bastard trying to reconcile with his sons before he dies. I tried to mention this to the group but I don’t think they were listening. So filing that thought away in the back of my mind we released the Halfling and he reluctantly agreed to follow along with us. We did find out from them that there was some mummy jailor ahead but thanks to my skills we didn’t need the keys from him to release them. Unfortunately for the rest of the group ol goody two shoes and his sidekick heard undead and all but demanded that we destroy it.
We headed down the corridor and down another passage that lead into a small room that was flooded having to travel single file because of the confines of the hallway. Franklin headed in first and when he made it about half way across the room this cloth wrapped Koa-toa burst out of the water in front of him. It was quite comical to watch the fight cuz the damn mummy kept getting his hands stuck to the shield Franklin was carrying. All in all the battle was over quickly and we moved thru the room and on up the hallway. We came to a door that opened into a large ante chamber that must have been the worship center for these fish bastard. It took a while for some of us to make into the room because of some magical barrier blocking the way.
We were under a balcony that we later learned had a large statue of their god upon it in the area surrounding it where two ledges encircling the plaza that had four soldiers on each and in the area in front of the statue were some more. I just figured it would be another easy fight but that was before the fucking fish bastards started channeling lightning and started blasting away at the group. We killed of one group of the lightning channelers and another replaced it. Tordek and I made our way over to one side of the room and up a staircase will the rest of the group went the other way. When we made it up to the first level a high priest came out on the center balcony and started blasting away with lightning fortunately for the rest of the group he aimed it a t Tordek and I and we were able to expertly dodge out of the way of it without taking any damage. We managed to kill off the remaining whips and soldiers and caused the high priest to retreat in to a room off to the side of the statue. Things were starting to go our way when out of thin air appeared a beautiful woman with feathery wings in the center of the room…
